Gadolinium is used to detect blood brain barrier dysfunction and shows leakage of stuff from the blood into the brain. Albumin is a common protein found in the whites of eggs and also in blood of humans. This new imaging agent is a gadolinium albumin construct and it is more effective at spotting lesions. I wonder if it will catch on?
